// AMERICAN PHAROAH

// Location: Saratoga

Hello :) Back from a weekend spent in beautiful Saratoga. I was a first timer and fell in love. Fancy dresses, big hats, Southern vibes, oldest race track in all of America, and of course the best company [it was hard not to]. I'm usually really lucky with gambling [roulette is my shit] but the horses made me work for it this weekend. I'm down $60.00, not even a penny in winnings. The views made it worth it. It felt like a movie set and all magical and stuff, and you know how much I love magic and stuff. Dan's grandfather "Pop" [pronounced Pap] worked on the Saratoga grounds for about 26 years before he retired. Every year he would take his family down for the Travers race, the biggest race of the year. The crowd was incredible. All there to watch the famous American Pharoah. The horse who won the Triple Crown, and then came first in every other big race to follow. If he won the Travers race [a race that the past Triple Crown winners haven't been able win to since 1941], he would have made history, and would be announced the fastest/strongest horse in history. He lost in just the last second. Upsetting ending, but the excitement was all worth it.

The road trip home consisted of cute pit stops in towns I've never heard of before for fresh market fruit, antique shopping, and delicious lunch. Alright, it's back to reality. I'm missing that hotel bed already. Those pillows tho :)
