I met Dan out one night in Brooklyn. The moment he told me he was from the Jersey Shore, I laughed and immediately thought of 1. the reality show, and 2. I wonder if he has an accent. Like is it Coffee or Cawfee, water or watta

I opened my eyes a couple months later with a slight hangover from the night before. I wasn't in New York City, but in the State of New Jersey and It was july 4th weekend. Dan was ordering Pork Rolls for the boating adventure to F Cove, and I was quietly sipping on my coffee patiently waiting for my hangover to subside. In my older years I've developed slight motion sickness. For instance, every time I fly I now get nauseous when landing. it's ridiculous if you ask me. So, hangover + boat rides = no fun.

My July 4th weekend of F Cove, the boating adventure, and the Jersey Shore was just awesome. So awesome I just got back from there this weekend. Oh, and for the record, Dan says "water" with a hard a, there's a slight accent with Cawfee, and when he drinks enough alcoholic beverages "over there", durns into Pauly D's "Cabs are here" accent. Haha, he's going to kill me for that.

It was sometime in October of last year during a six hour studio class when I started sketching this brooch. I remember I was teaching myself how to use water colour paint, and I was frustrated because it looked like shit [excuse my French]. So I went for a walk, bought the new Porter magazine, got myself a fresh Americano [must have been number 3 of the day], and sat on a bench. There was an article written about Brooches.I've always loved wearing Dee and Ricky's Lego Heart, so my thought process went something like this: mmm I like brooches, I've taught myself how to draw flowers, I love roses, maybe this can be something.

The textile surface design program at FIT was really hard for me. I had no idea I would be picking up a paint brush again. I had to teach myself everything. Farrah represents this time in my life. The mold of the flower is an exact copycat of my first flower drawn for one of my first designs made. Inspired by the Calixte Bracelet, I wanted movement and shine so I added chains in Rose Gold and Silver.

Voila, Fashion's First Lady was born.

It's 4 pm on a Saturday and I literally have turned my little apartment into disaster zone. Let's fast-forward about four hours ago when I sat with coffee number two to write the "Meet Candice" section of this website. I was writing then deleting, writing then deleting when I finally stopped writing, I looked around my room and started to collect everything that = me. Pretty crazy how much has happened up till now. It feels good to be starting something brand new. Read the full // MEET CANDICE section here.

Back in the city a year older [26 as of yesterday] from a weekend spent at the Shore. I never expected it to look like this. Beach vibes everywhere. A lot of the people you see in these photos grew up on boats, and F Coves, and docks, and views that look like this. The closest thing I had to water growing up was a sprinkler. Although, there is nothing wrong with a sprinkler, my family and I invented some pretty awesome games.

Life at 25 years old was life changing. Literally. I can’t wait to take everything that I have changed for myself and make it into something incredible for life at 26. Hope you had a good weekend. x -C

5 ladies, one small cottage on Paradise Lane, and sunshine. Montauk, you have my heart. It just makes me want to work out a lot, buy a surfboard, grow my hair really long, and become a beach babe. Who knew New York living would 1. teach me the true meaning of time, and 2. make me fall in love with the water.

I do this really odd thing when I have a little alcohol in me while holding a camera - my brain goes work mode. All I wanted to do was take photos and make videos [how embarrassing]. At one point I think I hid behind a tree to get a real creative shot of Tina. Whatever, it's not my fault my brain is constantly in work mode. Here are a couple photos and video footage from Tina's Bach in Miami. Thank you Baby Magda [my little sister] for knowing your DJ's, the day parties were amazing. Take me back. x -C
