// KARL?
[Takes a sip of her coffee] Saturday in the studio - AKA my living room floor. My poor roomie. She has to be used to it about now, I hope. Music loud, paints everywhere, and my outfit.. well maybe we shouldn't go there. It's not pretty. I'm using my Saturday Times as a cover over the carpet. As I was laying the travel and art section down throughout my little living room floor I came across Karl's photo in T magazine! Look how young he is. He's hair still looks the same... just a different color now... I love spreads like these, "... an era when private moments were in fact private and snapshots truly intimate". Happy weekend guys x -C
// Read full story: Preserve.Us
Easter eggs! That's what I was asked to do as a DIY project for Preserve.Us. "Ok, ok" I thought, "I'll do an easter egg with a Candice Kaye Design flare - obviously". Step one complete. Now, what to do? I literally surfed Lauren Conrad. com 'How To' videos for like an hour until I found nothing. All the easter eggs I saw online were like tie dyed, or decorated in stripes, or really boring. Again nothing. So, I went to my sketch book and looked up the easiest flower to paint.
All you need is a cheap dollar store paint brush with a thin tip - paint [naturally - I used gold], and with each brush stroke you make, are the peddles that will create the easiest flower invented. Voila! The idea is to layer the strokes of paint on top of each other to create texture. I used a lot of Gesso [imagine it's like white paint that dries super thick].
The photos in this story are just beautiful. Elisa and I had such a good time showing Preserve.Us how we do arts and crafts. Thanks for the story guys!! It's amazing! x -C
// My walk from train to home
When it starts to get a little warmer in the city and all that winter blues start to fade away, New York livers are remided at just how cool their city is. I took this yesterday while walking home from the train station. I mean, just look at it. Dan and I were talking the other day about living in other cities. London, England to me is magic - one day I will have a little house in a small down in London, Amsterdam to Dan is beautiful, and New York City to the both of us is "bad ass" <-- his words and I agreed. It really is bad ass isn't it?
Anyways, it's Wednesday - which means new horoscopes are up! Click here to read yours. x -C
// From the studio
I have been obsessing over Dolce and Gabbana's print lately, and have decided to do a whole color way for the new collection [coming soon] around the bright reds and beautiful greens. Here is a little sneak peek in color! I hope you're enjoying the beautiful day [beautiful in terms of sun, not warmness] x-C
// Collection Eleven
Hi, happy Sunday :) Above is some artwork from the new collection. It's going to become the 'cover page' for N 11. This is generally how I work. Paint everywhere trying to find the right colour.
// Greenwich Village
First day of spring. Looks beautiful doesn't it.

// Candice Kaye Design X Papa Poule
Good morning :) Happy Thursday. Meet Maman's newest addition to Soho. I worked closely with Papa Poule on the wallpaper and custom plaid you see on the jazzed up fridge. Mmm these photos make me want some chicken.
