Good morning from Punta Cana! This is my view for the next 7 days. The weather is beautiful, the drinks are free, and there's a casino. Oh, and my best friend gets married in two days!! It feels good to have everyone back together again. Alright, time to get some breakfast. Happy Friday! x -C

I'm back in my dream world. Just me myself my favourite new tumblr and coffee #2. It's Wednesday, also known as my favourite day of the week [besides TGIF Friday, and Saturday morning, and lazy Sunday football 11 am wake up morning] because it's Horoscope day. Psychics, horoscopes, tarot cards [confession: I have a deck of my own] I'm all over them. It's not about knowing the future that gets me excited [I'm a believer in you make your own density through choices and action], it's the 'magic' of getting a little insight into something that hasn't happened yet. The unseen universe that graciously, or ungraciously place things in front of you that just 'happen' to help you get to the next place you need to be. It's my own little magic [that and Collection N Twelve]. Sitting in bed with breakfast and a book in Paris while looking like Cindy Crawford is pretty f'in magical too.

Hey!! Happy Wednesday. Is it me or did Wednesday come real fast. If you didn't hear the news from Monday morning, we launched our shop! Collection N Twelve has been transformed into gift wrap for the holidays, and they just look so delightful all wrapped up - if I do say so myself. Setting up the shoot, taking photos and editing them brought me back to my photography years. How I missed them. ANYWAYS, I'm taking off for the next week and a half. I have my computer [I'll still be working], my camera [which I'm stoked about] and a couple of bathing suits. Brittany is getting married in the Dominican and Candice Kaye Design is in deep need of a vacation around best friends. It's been two years of straight hustle with zero vacation. And not traveling for that long is just not in my DNA. I'll be snappin' away throughout the week if you dare to follow along [ckayedesign], as well as saying good morning on here from my hotel room... I just rambled on for a paragraph about stuff that wasn't the topic that I wanted to talk about. The photo above is an invitation to an exclusive presentation of Collection N Twelve at Love The Design in TORONTO! Yes, I'll be home for the weekend once fairytale life in Dominican is over. I thought I would take full advantage of my weekend, team up with the best store in Toronto and invite all my Toronto peeps to see what I've been working so hard on here in New York. Firstly sorry you had to experience such sight, and HOW hilarious did he look! We were up in Connecticut trick-or-treating with these beautiful views. I felt like a little kid again and it was glorious :) I hope you had a very scary Halloween! x -C

Good morning :) Hello Monday, hello November, and hello 6:30 a.m. Don't ask me why I'm up this early. My body normally doesn't allow me to operate past 7:00 a.m, which then requires a hot coffee. Maybe I'm just excited. Happy launch dayyy! The shop is now LIVE! I've been working hard on this holiday gift wrap series. Collection N Twelve is very special to me, I didn't want to open the shop without really feeling like it screamed "Wonder". Wonder all started one Saturday afternoon sketching while watching Alice And Wonderland [the one with Johnny Depp]. I loved the colors the magic and of course the fairytale. A dreamer is who I am, and I believe you're the maker of your own magic. Collection N Twelve gift wrap is just this, it's that touch of magic to your gift this holiday season. My cousin and his girlfriend are in New York for the next week or so. All the way from Melbourne, Australia. A place I NEED to visit sooner than later. I have a feeling Australia and I will have one of those love at first sight moments. I love having family in New York, I get to do things that I wouldn't normally go out of my way for. Like leave my cozy home on a rainy Wednesday night and hop around the the village, then end up at a Jazz bar. I'm so incredibly happy we did. Last night's jazz was probably the best I've seen in the city. My story is still up from last night's snap [ckayedesign] if you want to hear them play. I've never really heard anything like it.

it's currently 10:33 pm, the couch is where i've been for the past hour, and i'm about 1 1/2 glasses of whiskey deep [takes another sip]. it's been a while since i've fallen in love with a tumblr. pinterest is lovely, but there is nothing i love more than a good tumblr. it can put me on the couch for hours. i sort of just get lost in the photos. paris has always been a huge inspiration of mine. and not the cliché Eiffel tower paris, but the secret paris. the one i experienced when I sat at Hôtel Costes alone. photos from paris have always been my favourite, the colors of that city are naturally très chic. maybe it's the whiskey, but i'm in the mood to book a one way ticket to paris. wanna know a little secret? I actually do that every morning after my first sip of coffee - go on cheapoair and hit "new york" to "london". today i found a flight for $500.00 leaving tomorrow. it's my little morning daydream. before i moved to new york and wished i did, i would do the same thing from "toronto" to "new york". and now i type that into cheapoair at least once a month, and every time i do i smile a little.
I've been working on a custom mural with Hannah and Brendan for their beautiful new apartment in the East Village. All from their inspiration, we put together a stunning one of a kind hand painted mural that literally goes from wall-to-wall unrepeated. After months of perfecting, it's almost time for print [and let twenty2 wallpaper work their magic]. I was checking out her newest [fab] shoot with Harper's Bazaar and noticed she ranked Candice Kaye Design #11 on her style list! What a lovely surprise. Thanks Hannah!
// Who is Candice Kaye Design
This photo was taken in my old home in Greenwich Village [by Jose J. Martinez], a Village I miss about once a week. I miss my Carrie window , and walking home late night to Jazz music oozing out of the bars on either side of me. I also miss The Cupping Room. My favorite breakfast. Last night for Dan's last night as a 26 year old, we enjoyed half price margaritas & nachos and talked about life in our new hood in a new restaurant, and it felt just as fabulous. 'Who is Candice Kaye Design now compared to who I want it to be' is a question I ask myself at least once a day, and last night it was a topic of conversation [gotta love a man who will sit and listen]. I've made the decision to leave my full-time job here in New York [a job i've worked incredibly hard for] and go all in. It's time Candice Kaye Design gets my full attention. So the question now requires much more honesty, where do I see Candice Kaye Design? The answer: hotels, restaurants, cafes, beautiful installations, and the walls of your homes. A dream would be to work with the Beverley Hills Hotel or a Soho House. That palm wallpaper is iconic. The scale is large, the colors are bright, and it's 100% one of a kind. I just want to do really cool shit, and take textile design to new levels. The secret is, Candice Kaye Design isn't just stopping at wallpaper, that was just my beginning.
It's an exciting time for Candice Kaye Design. I have new products launching in the new year, and time - loads of it, that will be all mine, and yours ;)
