I enjoy working, I also enjoy bike riding down dirt roads to the ice cream store. Michelle, Grace, and I joined the two worlds together and took our computers with us to Mich's cottage. Working on a lake made writing emails a little easier. It also clears the brain a little. I'm back in the studio feeling refreshed, and burnt. I think I might be going to watch a Spice Girl concert tonight. A friend of mine is the baby spice of a Spice Girl cover band. Follow along on snap! ckayedesign x-C

// Weekend 

Beers flow in at around 11 am after two refills of coffee. Food of choice is usually hot dogs or hamburgers, and my hair and skin smell like lake water for the entire weekend. I'm currently sitting in my studio - skin burnt and filled with mosquito bites. Canadian cottage weekends my friends. How I've missed these. Thank you Brittany and Evan for having me!

// "Birds" from Collection N Fifteen

From Collection N Eleven, to Twelve and now to Fifteen it's been fun watching CKD grow. Today we are installing Birds from our newest collection on the studio walls. Monday morning is going to feel glorious. TGIF - go out and have a beer or something. x -C

When you have an afternoon off and your wallpaper has yet to be installed you invite your friends over and get creative. In yesterday's case - in my mom's kitchen. Singer/song writer Aleesia, Makeup artist Jasmine Duffey [we call her Jas], and my favourite photographer Valter Mendes  [I have talented friends] and Collection N Fifteen "Birds" enjoyed an afternoon catching up, putting on makeup and taking photos. Aleesia looked like a super star. I can't wait to see how the photos turn out.

Mia was getting another drink, so I decided I would get into the photo booth alone. I was only a couple old fashions deep... Maybe that's why I'm trying to kiss the top of the photo booth. In the mix of all of the collection launching, mural making, and meetings I've made sure to get dressed up put on lipstick and see my closest friends. Life is meant to have fun, regardless if the studio is how I want to spend my days and nights. 

This week we will be installing Olivia's wallpaper, and "Birds" from Collection N Fifteen on the studio walls. I also have a fun shoot scheduled Wednesday AND the ckd custom mural I'm doing for a powder room in Toronto comes in either tomorrow or Wednesday. // PIECES OF FIFTEEN

Pieces from Collection N Fifteen - a collection that I started in January. I'm happy with the way this collection came out - a finished product so far away from my initial thoughts of it when I started sketching birds, waves, wings, flowers, and leaves in total confusion of what they meant, and how they would work in a collection. Which actually mimics the past couple months of my life. That's the beauty of starting something new, where that new beginning will take you is unknown. To be OK with the unknown - that's the part I always had a hard time getting my head around. This collection taught me I didn't have to be OK with anything, just letting 'it' be was the answer. Which is why birds, wings, flowers, waves, and leaves separately were confusing until I put them all together and painted a delicate vine to connect them. Because I have also learned separately things might seem very confusing, but in the end they all connect - even if it connects with something as bizarre as a delicately painted green vine. Tomorrow Collection N Fifteen will be LIVE and available for inquires.  x -C

Two days old and Baby O is already taking over our lives. Pit stops at IKEA to buy her a 'fancier' chandelier, and fresh curtains. I even changed my morning country music - two coffee refills - email answering morning to walk over to Tina and David's house to see the little human. David, Teenz and I put together a CKD custom wallpaper for her room [because I'm her favourite Teta]. It came in yesterday from Rob and it looks beautiful. Maybe I should put together a baby line?
