Oh hello. Happy Halloween!! Dan and I went to an open bar Halloween party last night. Did I say it was open bar? Hurting unit today let me tell ya. Anyway, here is another Fav NYC Spot: Ace Hotel. I've stayed here a couple of times when I used to travel here. The lobby is so awesome. Picture big couches, long tables, and people everywhere. Love all the detail in the decor. Oh, and there's a photo booth, and I mean who doesn't like a photo booth. Definitely a spot of check out!

I'm a sucker for New York and it's ability to keep old traditions alive. Like how every morning my coffee is served to me in a brown paper bag. Puts a smile on my face every morning.
Soooo, what's everyone being for Halloween?? Dan and I are being... can't tell you. I'll surprise you tomorrow. x -C
// Maman Cafe, 239 Centre St, New York, NY
Birthday dinners and private tastings. Maman looks cozy during the day while holding a coffee and at night while serving dinner. Elisa has started to open her nights up for private seating. I love the idea. The food is incredible as well!
Anyways, here are some photos from last night. I got home last night and could not sleep, so I started editing. It's Wednesday : ) which means new horoscopes! Click here to read yours. x -C

It's 11:30 pm. I literally just walked in my door from 9 am this morning. Not too abnormal for a New York day. Maman has started to open up their nights for private dinners. Tonight was a tasting. Let me tell you, delicious. Perfect way to end a long day. I met some incredible people tonight. All from such different backgrounds, all doing such incredible and inspiring things. It's nights like these that make me hate New York for making me exhausted, but love it all at one time for introducing me to people I would have never met anywhere else.
Lately it's been catching up on sketches for new designs, birthday celebrations with the boyfriend, and Selfies wearing Farrah. I've started to wear my chuncky jewelry again too. Maybe it's time to start designing something different? Rings perhaps? See, brain is constantly moving. Time to shut it off. It's bed time. I hope you had a lovely day. Talk to you in the morning.

// NEW YORK TIMES
Pretty excited about this write up on Maman in the New York Times. My first New York mention!
// Location: Soho House New York
I've never seen the Soho House so busy. Granted it's been raining the past two days in New York. Perfect place to take a first time visitor. I love the Soho House vibes when it's a busy industry night. Claudia [my visitor] was wide eyed when she walked into the house. I mean, how could you not be. I always find it impressive whenever I walk in there. I'm excited to show this lady around the city. It sometimes takes a newcomer to remember how incredible this city is.

The story about Elisa and I all started back in Toronto. She was working with Scotch & Soda doing their PR, and I was running around the city freelancing and taking photos of my outfits for iCandi [my previous blog]. Over a lunch one afternoon, Elisa told me she was leaving me and taking off to London to live with Ben [her bf, and now her business partner at Maman]. A week later she emailed me, and told me she was moving to Ibiza to do wedding planning [her dream] for Experimental Cocktail Club [a cocktail bar Ben and his partner's own]. About a couple months later she told me she as joining me to live in New York City to open another cocktail bar. Fantastic news.
Since then, Elisa and I would have dinners and talk about our design dreams. Aside from wedding planning, her dream was to always open a bakery. In fact, she used to have her own cupcake business when she lived in Montreal. And then boom, a year later Maman was born. Love how all of her attention to detail from wedding planning has transferred into the Cafe. Obsessed with the decor.
The week I was finished textile design at FIT, I got a phone call from Eliza from Ibiza [haha that rhymed], she told me the news about her Cafe, and asked if I would do the print for it. Obviously I said yes, and I can't believe how well everything came out.
Here are photos from Media day [yes, I still enjoy picking up the camera]. You can see the rest of the prints here!
Ohh and one more things, there are new horoscopes up!
