It's been another 7 day work week. I'm a little on the exhausted side. But as always, New York doesn't care. Hello Monday morning!

On my train ride to DC Thursday [for a work trunk-show], I finally put down "The 4-Hour Work Week" by Timothy Ferriss. A highly recommended book. I've been saving pages, circling key points, and scribbling notes throughout the read and I wanted to share one of my favourites. Tim says, "Having an unusually large goal is an adrenaline infusion that provides the endurance to overcome the inevitable trails and tribulations that go along with any goal". It's the truth. Setting goals extremely high does force you to be brave, ask for what you want, and be true to your goal.

I picked up the latest issue of Time Magazine with Taylor Swift's face on it on my way back to New York. "The Power of Taylor Swift" at 25 years old? I mean that's insane. The article talks about her ability to stand her ground at such a young age. She knew what she wanted, and for that 10 years later she was rewarded. It's inspiring. It's also inspiring to know that her success was not overnight [patience and I aren't the best of friends].

My Sunday morning was spent with Judy Kim at Maman. We walked over to her friend's store for a little inspiration. Michele Varian's style is just textile heaven am I right?

Alright, time to get going x -C

// FAV NYC SPOT #5

// Location: 124 Old Rabbit Club

Tucked away in Greenwich village through a secret door you'll find 124 Rabbit Club. Another gem in NYC. I love it's warm cozy vibe. B and I stumbled across the Rabbit Club on a rainy day in New York. And when I say rainy, I mean pouring and we needed to find a bar asap to keep dry. I saw a bouncer standing in front a black door [in New York that means fun], we took a chance, and boom. Jackpot.

// PHILLY 11.8.14

// PHILLY

Our first stop on our road trip to Philly was a tour around his old Uni... sorry, college campus. It brought me back to the days when anything and everything felt possible. I still feel that way, sometimes. Living in New York City alone has obviously brought on other stresses and pressures. Grown up bull**** [pardonnez mon Francais]. A refresh button is always a good feeling. We drove down to Geno's where Dan introduced me to a real Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. It was so delicious that I got it all over my hands and black scarf.

We drove by the famous Rocky steps. Which was pretty awesome since Rocky was a family favourite growing up. The rest of the trip was spent just walking around. To all my Canadian peeps, how similar are those photos below to corners in Toronto or Montreal.

The night was spent with introductions to all of his college friends. Whom I hated. Kidding. Dan's friends are just as incredible as he is.

Alright, that's all. I hope you're enjoying the day! x -C

// ROAD TRIP

// Location: Philly

There is nothing I love more than an open road and a fresh coffee. Dan and I just got back from a weekend spent in Philly. It's crazy how much it looks like Toronto with hints of Montreal European-ness. We did everything from visit his Uni campus, to Philly cheese steak sandwiches [which were delicious], to walking around the city. Philly has some really cute looking streets. I'll have more photos up later! I hope you had a fab weekend. x -C

Soho House New York: Theophilus London Performance

Dan and I were enjoying our old fashions when Kanye and Kim walked in. I'm not going to lie, Kim looked beautiful. They both have such a presence. I just sort of stood there and stared at them the entire time. Super awkward, and creepy : )

Hayyy Thursday. Almost time for some TGIF fun. Almost. This is my life lately. I'm back to the drawing board with a new textile surface design project, this time for Toronto. I'm really excited about. I am also getting back on my writing game. My last few articles were with Preferred Magazine. Same editor [we can call him Mr. G], different magazine. He is giving me complete freedom with what I can write about. Which is awesome considering New York has so much to offer when it comes to it's underground secret-ness and awesomeness.

Mmm what else has been going on with me? Dan was a sheep for Halloween. I had to include that photo. I mean, he just wore it all too well.

I've been working on new jewelry pieces with sterling silver chains! Everything is in just the beginning stages, but I'm starting to really like what it's transforming into.

Farrah has been getting a lot of wear lately with this fall weather. I'm wearing Farrah today on my Club Monaco dark green plaid jacket and it's sparkling marvelously on this rainy day in New York City. Alright, that's all. Hope you're enjoying the day so far!

// WINTER JACKETS

// New York Fashion Week '14

Besides the fact that it's spring weather in New York City today, I feel like we should talk about Winter jackets [selfishly because I really need to get a new one]. Do I get a pea coat again? A really nice Mackage jacket to match my big sister? Or do I go on trend and match what was on the runway for Fall '14? That Richard Chai wrap jacket that sort of looks like a housecoat I'm really liking. They are all over New York. The BCBG fur is also really lovely. I walked into Reformation on Sunday, [A little boutique store on Dan's street in the Lower East Side], and found a long pea coat. By long I mean like below my knees, wait sort of the length as that wrap jacket. I'll let you know what I end up deciding. Thanks for listening.

As for you fellas, I've included some of my favourite looks from Richard Chai's runway. There is nothing sexier than a man in a ball cap and a pea coat. Or a toque paired with a pea coat. Alright that's enough of my rambling. If you haven't read your horoscope yet they are updated! Read yours here. x -C
