// SNOW DAYY

// Location: Studio

Snow Day in New York! I closed my eyes and allowed myself to sleep in a little [a lot]. I haven't had a full day off in a while. Spending it catching up on invoices and designs, and nutella [anyone else eat nutella like this?]. Guilty pleasure. Alirght, happy snow day New York.

// COLETTE CAFE TORONTO

// Location: 50 Wellington St, Toronto, Canada

While home for the weekend the fam and I booked reservations for Mama Kaye's birthday at one of Toronto's prettiest restaurants, Colette. I fell in love with the decor. High ceilings, Parisian style fenced arches, prettiest fabric, beautiful seating area. Well done Interior Designer of Colette, well done.

// WEEKEND VIBES

// On route to New York

Hi! I've touchdown back in NYC after a short weekend in Toronto. Roots Canada and I have been collaborating on a fun project for their Spring 2015 Indigo collection. They will be blowing up my prints to a 9'-4' [foot] backdrop for the shoot! Super excited to see it all come together. This Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting the team. We did a little small feature photo shoot interview thing. Ahh, way to excited. Hope you had a good weekend x -C

// Life Lately

Lately: Last night I ran to Maman Cafe after work, put on a Maman apron, and helped Elisa serve one of her private events. If you haven't seen Maman yet, it has the cutest back area perfect for private parties, birthdays, engagement parties, baby showers etc. Last night she hosted Founder Made [at the end of this event, I ended up being the worst server ever, all I wanted to do was eavesdrop on their conversations and secretly eat Maman's delicious menu]. Anthony Casalena was there, the founder of Squarespace. I swear I had every intention to gracefully thank him for such a wonderful platform. I didn't. Instead I told him I used squarespace super awkwardly, then paired my super awkward comment with a super awkward smile. ANYWAYS, before we started to serve the first dish, Anthony stood up and told his story. This Superbowl will hold his second Squarespace commercial, costing his company about $150,000. Pretty incredible considering his company started out of his dorm room 9 years ago with a $30,000 loan from his parents [God bless our parents].

// A SKETCH

// Where it all begins.

Every design starts with a sketch [and coffee]. I literally have little flowers and leaves scattered in every corner of that sketch book. I have two currently rotating. Makes sense right. One of them dates back to about four years ago. I try to date everything I do to keep track of my progress [just noticed this one isn't]. Some of my old sketches.. let me tell ya - u g l y. Anyways, it's Wednesday. Happy humpy day! I'm flying home this weekend for Mama's bday and a photo shoot day with Roots! I'll make sure to keep you updated with posts! Oh, and I'm booking a reso at Colette? for Saturday night. A new Parisian style restaurant in Toronto? The photos look delicious. I love how T.Dot is finally stepping up it's game. Ugh, I miss my homeland.

Also, new horoscopes are up. Read yours here. x -C

// Oprah Winfrey: What I Know For Sure

I needed an outlet to not think about work all.the.time [as a creative this is not the easiest task]. Instagram/Pinterest surfing were just making matters worse. So I threw myself into books. What better way to escape? My subway rides are much more enjoyable, my thoughts before I close my eyes are much more pleasant, and to be honest, I don't feel as overwhelmed as a I did pre-2015.

// BEAUTY MOMENT

I envy people who take the time to look after themselves. I wash my face, brush my teeth [good for me right?], moisturize morning and night aaand that's about it. I read about face masks, and special oils, and different plants you can eat or put on your skin to make it glow like an angel - I have never glowed like an angel. My nails have been spending their time unpainted lately as well. Between my full-time hours and freelance, the nail salon can wait. My older sister Tina gets her nails done every Friday. Every.single.Friday - impressive.

Last night I decided to make a change. I painted my nails red and was going to make the time to use my very expensive exfoliator Tina had gotten for me a couple months ago. I opened it just to find out it had dried up into what looked like a hard candy ball. I swear I had the entire jar left the last time I checked. Depressing. Also pretty incredible that an entire jar of exfoliator has the potential to look like candy if left for too long. Anyways, that's my Monday morning story. I hope you had a good weekend. For those of you who are off today due to the holiday. I am jealous. x -C
