// MARTINI IN MY HAND

// Location: Miami

So, I just read my horoscope and it couldn't be more accurate. According to Cal, Cancers "... could really use a trip to Tahiti." I'm so ready to bail out of all this work and escape to an island and sit myself down on a beach chair, wear nothing but a swim suit, hear nothing but ocean, and see nothing but ocean, and go to bed early, and wake up early to make sure I get the best sun, and maybe take up surfing lessons because I've always wanted to be a surf babe, and think of nothing other than whether or not I've put enough sun screen on. Instead, I'm stuck in this sticky heat of New York summer, cooling myself off with my air conditioner and exhausted from not enough time in my day. Life of luxury people. I'll daydream in the meantime... of miami because I've never been to Tahiti. x -C

// Candice Kaye Design for Blue Roots Tea

It's here! The ladies of Blue Roots Tea approached me a while ago for a custom ckd print for their packaging. Andddd voila! Graphic Designer Michelle Bajurny was behind all the graphic design. It looks incredible. Couldn't be more excited. Blue Roots Tea is now sold at the brand new @DRINKjuice_co in Toronto! Congrats ladies. x -C

// WEEKEND VIBES

// Location: Citi Field

I put the computer away this weekend, regardless of the fact that I have loads of work to get done. Sometimes - almost always - that's needed. I started my weekend off with no set alarm and stay-in-bed-until-my-second-cup-of-coffee-is-finished kind of morning. It was glorious. Dan and I ended our Saturday night off with the Mets, and Ne-Yo, who had a secret performance after the game. That guy really does have a lot of hits. At around 1 am we arrived at our stop and into what seemed like another era. The train on the platform across from us looked like it belonged in the 1920's. Old New York was so much cooler. Happy Monday x -C

// CALIXTE

//

Good morning :) Happy Monday! I'm on coffee number two already. It was rough getting out of bed this morning. In other news, how beautiful does Calixte look on Kristen's hand this past weekend? I also took out my ckd bling this weekend, Farrah Brooch made an appearance on my white crop blazer that I wore hung over my shoulders. Fall is coming, and brooches will be back in full effect.

// CINDERELLA

//

One of Dan's old housemates sent me the best present the other day - a downloadable file of the new Cinderella. If "Wonder" [the new ckd Fall collection] didn't give it away, I'm a fairytale snob. Magic and a fairy dust make me a very happy person, which is why I still enjoy Disney movies. At 27. Anyway, the new Cinderella was everything I hoped for and more. The costumes, the set design, the beautiful carriage were all done perfectly. So much inspiration running through my head. It would be a dream to do all the textile design for the next Disney movie. One thing at a time, so in the meantime, I can't wait to show you whats in store for Fall. Shouldn't be too much longer now before it launches. Maybe one day when I have my very own CKD headquarters my office entrance will be this carriage. Too much? Happy Friday ya'll. x -C
