// Woke up in Hokoben
The craziness of December has made it's way well into January. January 18th to be exact. Dan and I had the pleasure of meeting Ralph, our nickname for the bedbugs we found in our boxspring. Yes, you read that correctly, bed bugs in our boxspring [remember back when I talked about hotel living, well hotel living wasn't by choice, and hardly glamorous we lived out a little weekend bag for about a month]. Ralph and his friends literally took over our beautiful New York apartment making us sleep on a really comfortable blow up mattress [sarcasm] on the floor in our living room. That lasted a month before they kicked us out of our apartment completely. Well that's a lie, there was an opportunity to break our lease so we took it. We spent the weekend moving to Hoboken! It's a town just across the water, which holds the most beautiful view of New York City. It's a temp location for now until we figure our lives out. It's definetly very different than the City. Firstly, everyone is young or is young and has cute babies. I feel like I'm walking around a college town, which is actually really fun - doesn't make life feel so real. The streets are old, and the buildings are pretty [I'll update you with photos tomorrow]. The bars are apparently really fun as well - those I haven't tested out yet, excited for the weekend. It's also extremely quiet which is going to be fantastic for painting days . Life is slower and calmer across the water. Living in the city can make you feel like you need to get outside. Ralph might have actually been a blessing in disguise. I'm excited for this new living adventure. Everything happens for a reason, ready to see what this one was for. I'm also ready to start really digging into Collection N Fifteen, you can see now why my work life has been on hold for the last little while. Damn Ralph was a real inconvenience. Happy Monday guys x -C
// Weekend vibes [photo: Jose Martinez]
I love Friday mornings. I pick up my coffee from the same deli I go to every morning, say hello to my friends who call me Shakira, and smile inside as I know tomorrow is Saturday. It's been a busy two weeks back in New York from a long [much needed] holiday at home. Just a couple more hours until I can sit back on that chair, eat my cereal, and think about Collection N Fifteen. Happy weekend guys! x -C

Elisa and I don't get to see each other as often as we would like to. She's busy running around opening Maman's all over New York, and me, well I'm just not that busy [takes a sips of her coffee]. Last night was the official opening of Maman in it's newest location, TriBeCa. It's my favourite location, why? Because there are cocktails [obvs] and big comfy seating. I brought along Rachel, her new beau, and Dan and we enjoyed spaghetti squash, beet salads and the leek salad yum. If you're in New York or visiting anytime soon, the dinner menu is delicious. x -C
// Location: My apartment
Just a typical Wednesday at my apartment with Rachel and photographer Jose Martinez. Photoshoots while drinking prosecco on the coldest day in New York City yet was the best way to spend the day. I'm not a model nor do I want to be, but it's fun to get your photos done. It was a good way to say goodbye to this apartment. Dan and I are moving this weekend [sad face]. I loved my home, fireplace, fire escape, hardwood floors, a kitchen with a marble counter top - I mean you just don't find that everywhere in New York. I've always wanted to have "new york" photos - you know like the ones you see on tumblrs so I'm excited to see how these turned out. Wait! we literally just got these photos sent from Jose [I love when photographers work fast] Check out the photo below of Rach ontop of the fridge. Doooppeeeee. Oh, OH there are new horoscopes up! x -C
// Tarot Cards
Before I moved to New York for textile design, or before I even thought there was a possibility I could live in New York for textile design, I would sit in my room and sketch and watch documentaries. I went through a Paris phase. My fascination got so real that I hopped on a flight to visit Britt in Cardiff, Wales and did a four day visit to Paris alone in between our visit to see Ash in London. The many reasons why I wish I lived in Europe. Paris being just a 80 Euro train ride away. The documentaries that I would sit and watch were mainly about designers and revolutionary thinkers. One of them being Gabrielle Chanel. I just recently saw a insta post from Justine Picardie, Harper's Bazaar UK editor. She said these cards were found on Gabrielle's desk in her apartment at 31 Rue Cambon. Hers are a lot cooler but I've been pretending to read tarot cards for some time now and love them. I got the Wild Unknown about 4 years ago now and just recently do I feel like they are starting to make sense. I also still don't really know what I'm doing and just read the basic past, present, future. But I have to say they have been pretty spot on when it comes to future and people [so much so that I catch Dan playing with them as well, shh don't tell him I told you]. I love the idea of magic. It's just so delicious.

I've been working hard on the newest ckd collection Collection N Fifteen. I've decided to keep these beautiful dark grounds in the new collection. I love how well they print out on wallpaper. Excited to see what they look like on fabric too *wink*.

The beginning of my 2016 has been cleaning up the mess of what 2015 has left. But I've been cleaning while singing to Justin Biebs or some really good Country playlist on my Apple Music, sipping on a beer, and dancing. The faster I clean the faster I can finally start fresh and move forward. 2015 introduced me to the world of panic attacks and high stress [so fun]. I was literally out of commission for the month of September. I would get waves of dizziness, at times my vision would get blurry, and I couldn't sleep for the life of me. It was probably the scariest month of my life. The only medicine to cure what I was going through was myself [that to me was the scariest part]. I found my way out of that mess and am perfectly fine now, but have learned a lot about myself, what matters, and whatever I can't control I have to leave alone. Which is why I'm taking my time in 2016. Whatever I create will be created with time and attention [new collection details coming in the following post], and whatever dinner date Dan and I go on, or nights out will be enjoyed as if I'm not a designer and I have no stress with nothing planned for the following week. Unless of course I run into Kanye West and he's like "Yo CK, wanna do a collaboration with me for my next collection?", then, then I'm a designer again. So this weekend was exactly this - Friday night Rach and I got all dressed up for New York City, found ourselves at 1 Oak with NFL players and I enjoyed every single free vodka soda I sipped on. Saturday Dan was home from call at the hospital so we walked around, went to a German bar, got ourselves a liter of beer each, and ended the night at Gotham Market [highly recommended].
The Golden Globes was the perfect end to the weekend. An award show one day I dream of attending. I hope you guys had a lovely weekend, Cheers to a new week! x -C

First Friday night of 2016 in New York City and I plan to make it an eventful one. One of my new years resolutions is to remember I'm still a 27 year old living in the most exciting city in the world. I'm taking the feathers out. x -C
