// POSE

// Location: Photo booth

Mia was getting another drink, so I decided I would get into the photo booth alone. I was only a couple old fashions deep... Maybe that's why I'm trying to kiss the top of the photo booth. In the mix of all of the collection launching, mural making, and meetings I've made sure to get dressed up put on lipstick and see my closest friends. Life is meant to have fun, regardless if the studio is how I want to spend my days and nights.

This week we will be installing Olivia's wallpaper, and "Birds" from Collection N Fifteen on the studio walls. I also have a fun shoot scheduled Wednesday AND the ckd custom mural I'm doing for a powder room in Toronto comes in either tomorrow or Wednesday. // PIECES OF FIFTEEN

// Location: Studio

Pieces from Collection N Fifteen - a collection that I started in January. I'm happy with the way this collection came out - a finished product so far away from my initial thoughts of it when I started sketching birds, waves, wings, flowers, and leaves in total confusion of what they meant, and how they would work in a collection. Which actually mimics the past couple months of my life. That's the beauty of starting something new, where that new beginning will take you is unknown. To be OK with the unknown - that's the part I always had a hard time getting my head around. This collection taught me I didn't have to be OK with anything, just letting 'it' be was the answer. Which is why birds, wings, flowers, waves, and leaves separately were confusing until I put them all together and painted a delicate vine to connect them. Because I have also learned separately things might seem very confusing, but in the end they all connect - even if it connects with something as bizarre as a delicately painted green vine. Tomorrow Collection N Fifteen will be LIVE and available for inquires.  x -C

// BUTTERFLIES AND FLOWERS

// Fresh from the printers

Two days old and Baby O is already taking over our lives. Pit stops at IKEA to buy her a 'fancier' chandelier, and fresh curtains. I even changed my morning country music - two coffee refills - email answering morning to walk over to Tina and David's house to see the little human. David, Teenz and I put together a CKD custom wallpaper for her room [because I'm her favourite Teta]. It came in yesterday from Rob and it looks beautiful. Maybe I should put together a baby line? Installation is going up next week! Follow along on snap for updates [ckayedesign] x-C

// OLIVIA

// 06.07.16

Ladies we have a baby. We got to the hospital at around 11:30 Monday night in hopes the baby would arrive between 2:00 am -3:00 am. I finished Wild [my latest read, which I highly recommend - now I can finally watch the movie], pinned about 1 million photos on Pinterest, by 4:00 am I decided I would take a nap on the most comfortable bench in the waiting room #sarcasm, I got myself a second coffee by 9:00 am, and finally at around 10:00 am we got the message Olivia was here and perfectly healthy. She has my lips and oddly perfectly shaped eyebrows. I can't wait to teach her how to finger paint all over the mom and dad's white walls. David and Tina you're superstars.

// NEW LOOK

//

I woke up this morning in the same bed, put on the same country playlist, made the same coffee in the same french press - yet I felt different. I spent my rainy Sunday putting together the finishing touches to the updated website. What do you think? Antony Rush - the genius behind all of the motion graphics [more to come once we launch Collection N Fifteen] and website - and I worked hard on getting this up and running. I really didn't do much, just updated the images that went into the templates he made for me. Maybe that's why I feel different, all of the changes in the last couple months and this was the last to happen. And now it's here and I feel complete. And now for new beginnings like Collection N Fifteen which will launch in the next couple days. Happy Monday guys! x -C

// WORKING AIN'T YA

// From The Studio

How I get paint on the inside of my hands has always been a mystery to me. I've been working hard in the studio this month. Three custom CKD wallpaper prints are going up between now and beginning of July. In the next week or so you'll be seeing an updated website and COLLECTION N FIFTEEN. A lot has gone down since the launch of Collection N Twelve. Personally as an artist I find it hard to create when I have external pressures and stresses weighing on my spirit. Collection N Fifteen has been my most personal yet because it's the only thing that kept me focused and moving forward when my life was falling apart around me, literally. I'm covering my studio in my favourtie collection n fifteen print because of it. It's sort of like a really really big tattoo that covers four walls. Whenever I look at it I'll remember New York, my days living in Hoboken - then sleeping on a couch, and Rihanna because "work" was on repeat, oh and Mindy. The Mindy Project saved my life.

// FIGHT CLUB

// Life lately

Aside from all of the exciting things going on here at the CKD headquarters, I've made new friends with Chickens, learned I'm not the best tennis player - but forgot how good of a workout it was, checked out the newest Food Dudes Pantry location - which will be covered in custom CKD wallpaper, and sipped on wine in Prince Edward Country with one of my best friends. I also have a new found love for the country. For years I would drive north to open dirt roads just to clear my head when life felt heavy, in New York I would just lay on the floor staring at the ceiling singing Taylor Swift. Lately I've been envisioning my home in Canada [because I plan to have multiple] on open land with my studio in a separate barn beside my home. Maybe I'll even invite some horses to live with me. Maybe my future husband will teach me how to ride them. Ok, refilling my coffee and back to work. Keep updated with me on Snap [ckayedesign] and instagram - new things are going down in the next few weeks! x -C

// NEW VIDEO

// Collection N Fifteen

How is it May 24th already. Life slow the F down. I woke up this morning feeling slightly burnt from the weekend. I've started to make changes to the website - so just a heads up in next couple weeks. We might need to shut down the site for a couple days before the big launch. We'll see I'll give you a heads up though. In the meantime, here is the first half of the video I've be working on! Collection N Fifteen has been a collection of the past five - six months of my life. Pretty excited about it. #pressplay x -C
