// ON LOCATION

// CKD newest custom work

Introducing you to our newest custom wallpaper project on the west end. It's an Australian inspired cafe - which means really good coffee, really good food, and really cool vibes. The wallpaper is completly different than anything I've done before, most definitely pushing boundaries which I love. Alex - the Toronto transplant from Australia is younger than I am, with a chill laid back soho grunge style, with great taste in wallpaper ;) Can't wait to see this up! Follow along on snap [ckayedesign] I'll be on location tonight for updated measurements. x-C

// Weekend vibes

Sunday night spent sitting on my living room floor, computer open working on ckd's newest custom project for an Australian inspired cafe opening on Bloor west. I'm also testing out my new reading glasses. I have been getting the worst headaches whenever painting or on my computer. Turns out my left eye has a stigmatism leaving my right eye to do all of the work. Poor left eyeball. Only good news though, I can see better and I feel like I look smart af. Anyway my good friend Rachel who now lives in LA is in town so a bunch of us spent the weekend away drinking old fashions and vodka sodas. Brought me back to four months ago when we both were living in New York together. Also how sweet is that toilet seat. Who needs a boyfriend.

// NICE

//

Everything about last night made my world go black. 84 people dead, 54 of those people were babies and children. What is going on with our world. I'm praying for the lives lost and for those that have lost.

// GIRL CRUSH

// Aleesia

So remember on Tuesday when I said I couldn't wait to see more photos from our editorial shoot with Aleesia, photographer Valter Mendes, makeup artist Jasmine Duffey, and Birds? Well they are here. And Aleesia, you're stunning. See all of the photos here

// SUMMER LIGHT

// That's my best friend

For the past three years my birthday has been spent with my New York family. If I was home for a weekend it was quick and jam packed with a flight to catch early Sunday morning. So when I got the chance to have all my favourite people to myself for an entire night I put up lights, bought loads of booze, [the boys] bbq'd hamburgers and sausages, and opened Head Ups late at night to make sure they never left. The plan worked. Also - notice Flying Stripe on my birthday cake - my friends love me. I hope you guys had a good weekend. Back to the grind I go. x -C

// LET'S NOT DISMISS THE PROBLEM WITH #ALLLIVESMATTER

//

The hurtful reality is that nothing has really changed between police brutality vs. black lives, we just have better accessibility to video than before. So lets not dismiss the problem with #AllLivesMatter - read this link if you're having a hard time understanding why. I think it's time people stop feeling sorry for the black lives lost and start respecting their lives before they are lost. I'm praying for the families of Sterling and Castile today as well as all of the others who have felt injustice.

// 28.

//

I'm sitting in my studio, looking at Collection N Fifteen on the walls, there's country music playing in the background, and I'm on my second coffee. Twenty Eight. New Yorkers would consider me young, my family considers me old with thirty around the corner, and my grandmother prays for me to find a husband and have babies. Me, I'm busy ripping pages out of travel magazines of Cannes and St. Tropez for my vision board which are also accompanied by pictures of dream clients like the Google offices and Soho Houses, people I would like to work with like Kanye and Karl Lagerfeld and Alice Temperely and Sophia Amoruso and the Olsen Twins, an unknown chic woman casually walking in front of an airplane - a photo I plan to recreate one day.

Life at twenty seven taught me the power of positive thinking when stepping onto unknown territory. It's comfortable going to bed at night when you know what you're going to wake up to the next morning. I decided somewhere between huge dreams and working hard that comfortable was not my cup of tea - that's a feeling I've learned to embrace and fully lean into. So I'm ready twenty eight. Let's hope it's a good one.
