// MOROCCO

//

Ash and I arrived at the Marrakech airport jet lagged [on my end] and hungry. Then we stepped outside to find our driver and were instantly sweating. 41 degrees - a whole new level of heat. I can confidently say I know what it feels like to walk around with wet clothes. You probably didn't need to know to that. There are loads of rumours about Marrakesh, most of them about the aggressive men. Maybe it's because we were covered, but we were treated like Queens. We spent the first two days roaming around, sweating, shopping. Somewhere between the Souks and making ourselves at home on the floors of the shops while we picked out bowls and mugs, we found paradise at Hotel Mamounia. The detail in the hotel took my breath away so was the feeling of falling into the pool. Water has never felt so good against my skin. We spent the last two days in the desert riding on camels, and sleeping in the desert [in tents that were way too hot to sleep in, so Ash and I slept outside alongside mountain wolves #truestory]. I woke up Friday at 5 am to coffee and a sunset [last photo]. One of those cheesy moments in life when you stand there motionless and reflect on your life. The view definitely put things into prospective. God damn our world is beautiful was the thought that went through my head. I felt fortunate be standing there. Life's a gift. I'm back in London now, working from here all week. Perhaps a new location will spark some new inspiration. Collection N 22 is coming! x -C

The power of textile surface design. Pattern is coming back, people are starting to catch on, and it's making me very excited. Now it's my job to keep pushing boundaries and produce product the textile design world as never seen [insert musical theatre song and dance].

The wallpaper is completly different than anything I've done before, most definitely pushing boundaries which I love. Alex - the Toronto transplant from Australia is younger than I am, with a chill laid back soho grunge style, with great taste in wallpaper ;) Can't wait to see this up! Follow along on snap [ckayedesign] I'll be on location tonight for updated measurements. x-C

// Weekend vibes

Sunday night spent sitting on my living room floor, computer open working on ckd's newest custom project for an Australian inspired cafe opening on Bloor west. I'm also testing out my new reading glasses. I have been getting the worst headaches whenever painting or on my computer. Turns out my left eye has a stigmatism leaving my right eye to do all of the work. Poor left eyeball. Only good news though, I can see better and I feel like I look smart af. Anyway my good friend Rachel who now lives in LA is in town so a bunch of us spent the weekend away drinking old fashions and vodka sodas. Brought me back to four months ago when we both were living in New York together. Also how sweet is that toilet seat. Who needs a boyfriend.

// NICE

Everything about last night made my world go black. 84 people dead, 54 of those people were babies and children. What is going on with our world. I'm praying for the lives lost and for those that have lost.

// SUMMER LIGHT

// That's my best friend

For the past three years my birthday has been spent with my New York family. If I was home for a weekend it was quick and jam packed with a flight to catch early Sunday morning. So when I got the chance to have all my favourite people to myself for an entire night I put up lights, bought loads of booze, [the boys] bbq'd hamburgers and sausages, and opened Head Ups late at night to make sure they never left. The plan worked. Also - notice Flying Stripe on my birthday cake - my friends love me. I hope you guys had a good weekend. Back to the grind I go. x -C
