// NYC

//

If I could paint the perfect christmas New York weekend, it would look something like this. We woke up Saturday morning to a perfect snowfall. It was really pretty at first - but then it just became a never ending snowfall that lasted until after dinner. After years of living in New York I finally got us a reservation at Rolf's. I called in October, and could only get a 12:00 pm lunch reso. For the better though, the food was not the best. We saw friends and their new babies, Elisa's one and only Christmas tree, I fell deeper in love with Daniel Arsham - the work he did at Kith is incredible. And I've decided to put rugs on the walls as wallpaper. I'm not feeling the best as I write this, seems the flu has made its way to the ckd studio. Maybe it's a sign that it's time to just relax and watch Christmas movies. Holidays are here! x -C

// THE PREVAIL PROJECT

//

I've always had an urge to get my vision out into the world. Just whenever I would open my mouth I would get looks of complete confusion. Over time I learned timing is everything, even when it comes to my ideas. Give them time to develop so you can show people what you mean. It's a strange feeling to watch the first phase come to life. I say first because custom wallpaper is just my step one. The ideas that have been brewing in my head for the past eight years have yet to be developed and perfected before I can show you. I spoke to The Prevail Project about my journey up until this point. There's nothing more satisfying than being interviewed by a writer who understands you, laying out my thoughts in a beautifully written piece. If you feel like reading about why I started with wallpaper, how Elisa from Maman was my push to start Collection N Eleven, why I feel a need to push the boundaries in the textile industry, and how resilience is the key and only ingredient to success click here. Thank you Prevail for having CKD. x

// SNOW

// Location: Rebecca Lake

One day all my weekends will look like this. Coffee overlooking the lake, music playing in the background, my kids running around in their pajamas, friends joining us for dinner later, I'll decorate the table with one-off samples from the ckd kitchen line. In meantime I'll be thankful for the one-off weekends I get. I love these people.

// BOLO

// Location: 128 Peter Street, Toronto

Those bums and boobies are sitting very nicely on those walls. BOLO is open and it's the raddest gym I have ever seen. This is just Caleigh's beginning to some major plans in the works. Thanks for bringing me on board your vision, congratulations!

// TWO YEARS AGO TODAY

// Location: Love The Design, Toronto

Two years ago today I collaborated with the prettiest store in Toronto, had an old friend work her magic and style Collection N Twelve around the store, another friend (whom I met through my Roots Canada collaboration) take photos, and filled the room with friends, family, and whatever designers wanted to come through for the launch of Collection N Twelve. Is it weird that this event feels like yesterday? Read more and see all photos from that night here

// BOLO INSTALL DAY, AND OTHER THINGS

// Location: Toronto

Planta is opening in Miami and is taking CKD with it. BOLO's bums and boobies are installed. I've upgraded to an iPhone 8 which has left my phone naked with a new gelaskins phone case coming in the mail. It's A Rose has been repainted white for a powder room going up in two weeks. Anthony has started to turn Collection N Thirty-Three 3D. And I'm pretty sure I've worn the same thing three days in a row. k bye.
