// CKD STORY BOOK

//

The past month I've been putting together a catalog of my work for potential clients. Obviously this project turned into something way more elaborate than anticipated. Currently off at the printers, CKD has put together her first story book. The journey up to this point - through my clients. Starting with my time spent in New York City, I talk about my first client Maman Cafe, and how that one job pushed me into custom textile. Each project with its own short background story. Here are some shots from the studio, explaining the custom process of hand drawn to hand-painting. Excited to show you the finished project! x

// GOLD AND DISTRESSED MIRROR

// Collection N 44

When I opened these samples my mouth dropped a little. I've never printed on texture and now I'm not sure why I have waited so long. I am so in love with the way these turned out. So much so that I've been thinking of ways I can up myself for the next collection. Collection N 55, the last of my lucky numbers. It's going to have to be a really special one. And there I go already planning for the future. If you haven't seen the new collection click here. x

// LATELY

//

I've been cooped up in the studio for the past week. Starting with a coffee at 9am, ending with a glass of wine at 9pm. There's so much going on! First here's Bolo's second print finished and sample approved. Caleigh is opening her new space in the next couple months where this new print will make it's debut. Ali and I are three rugs deep into creating. I'll show you what we've been working on later. I've been working with Ali for almost six months now and I can't believe how much there is to know about rugs. The most valuable lesson has been learning how to properly transfer your vision onto the rug. So often art will get sent off to the mills and come back as distorted rug samples. It's no ones fault, but there are pieces to the puzzle that need to be communicated. Finding the perfect weave to work with the design is one of them. There are some really fun collabs in the works, collabs I can't yet tell you about. But a hint is CKD will be in some very cool department stores within the US and Canada. CKD is working on her newest custom project with Ballroom Bowl. The sketching process has started. Also Collection N 44 is done! Just finishing up the video and getting it all ready to launch. It's very different than anything I've done before. Ok, back to work. x C

// BOLO PRINT #2

//

Caleigh, the founder of BOLO, was inspired by collaged vintage boxing posters for her second print. We took that idea, flipped it on its head, and created a collage with an overall clean and chic vibe. Here is just a small portion of what the full print is going to look like. I can not wait to see this printed and on the wall. I have the coolest clients ever.

// NOW OFFERING RUGS

//

There is nothing more satisfying than working with quality, and then seeing your work transform into quality. CKD is officially now offering rugs. I can not wait to jump into this new world. Here's a sneak peek of a new design we are working on!

// TULUM

// Location: Tulum, Mexico

Aleks and her husband Adrian know how to throw a 30th birthday. 11 friends stayed at Be Tulum, the most beautiful boutique hotel I've ever stayed at. Every night was spent at the most yummiest restaurants (thanks to the foodies we were traveling with). Hartwood and Arca were my two favs. Tulum felt like a mini Bali. We took out bikes, and walked home from drinks at night. The vibe was laid back. Pure happiness. Now it's back to the office. Lots of work to catch up on! x
