// BEHIND THE SCENES WITH DOLCE MAGAZINE

// Location: Wanderspace

Yesterday. What. A. Day. Fresh off the plane from New York feeling tired and a little sick. BUT it has been non-stop lately, so I just got to keep moving. We packed up my little studio and set up at Wanderspace. Dolce Magazine and I spent the morning shooting. I loved the way this turned out! Thank you Dolce for having me. It was such a great way to end the week. Nothing I love more than meeting cool people. Stay tuned for my interview with them!

// NEW YORK CITY

//

Finally in my own bed after just over a week in new york. I saw friends, had some great meetings, watched a lot of jazz and walked around my favourite city at the perfect time of the year. Fall in New York is magic. Oh and also I’m working on my first off broadway play as a set designer! I’m teaming up from Francine from D'AquinoMonaco. My dreams of working on a Disney set are getting closer! A week in new york has officially kicked my ass though. My body forgot what it felt like to walk up and down the stairs on and off the subway. How sad is that lol. Alright, back to work just saying hi! x C

// IT'S FALL

//

How is it already October. SO MUCH IS GOING ON! CKD is officially working on her first boutique hotel in Sauble Beach. Vision board dreams come true. Our newest bespoke work at Lobby opening on Queen West has gone up! Creating that rustic technique was a massive learning curve. I’m really happy with the way it turned out. We went for that layered old hotel in Tulum feel. Papi Steak is the hottest restaurant in Miami right now. I’ll be in Miami for Art Basel, I can’t wait to see this space in action. Um what else. I’m already late for an appointment so I guess that is all! talk soon! x

// CKD X IDS VANCOUVER

//

CKD x IDS Vancouver VIP Lounge, designed by LIV Interiors. The entrance was my favourite part. We used Green Vine from Collection N 22, and changed the ground to pink. For the inside wall we mixed linear circular elements with the green vine. Really loved the way this turned out. Both prints are available at the shop!

// LA

CKD runs my life. It’s sad, but it’s true. Going into year three I feel like I’ve been running this never ending marathon of hard work and lessons. I feel like I’m constantly introducing myself, pitching what I do, what I stand for, what I want to become. This marathon also comes with learning how to navigate extreme lows with extreme highs. It’s constant and feels like it’s never ending. The need to build endurance is important to keep going. I’ve learned that the magic only happens when you keep going. However sometimes there are moments I get to rest and let go and be myself. This past year I feel like I didn’t do enough of the being myself part that I forgot what it felt like to just be me without CKD. I used to talk about independence and freedom being the goal. I used to think once I make enough money to have more independence I would get some freedom from my marathon. My recent trip to LA changed this narrative and opened my eyes to a new perceptive. My freedom and independence comes from when I follow my heart and concentrate on what I want to say to this world. I realize I’m still running a marathon, but it becomes a little more bearable when I can choose my own path.

// PAPI STEAK

Papi steak opens in Miami! We did a bespoke piece for the main dining, faux marble finish on the ceiling in the bar area, and a second design in the private dining space. Love this project! We have much more coming soon to Miami! Stay tuned!
