// BUNNIES IN MY CUP

// Location: Maman Cafe, 239 Centre St, New York, NY

The story about Elisa and I all started back in Toronto. She was working with Scotch & Soda doing their PR, and I was running around the city freelancing and taking photos of my outfits for iCandi [my previous blog]. Over a lunch one afternoon, Elisa told me she was leaving me and taking off to London to live with Ben [her bf, and now her business partner at Maman]. A week later she emailed me, and told me she was moving to Ibiza to do wedding planning [her dream] for Experimental Cocktail Club [a cocktail bar Ben and his partner's own]. About a couple months later she told me she as joining me to live in New York City to open another cocktail bar. Fantastic news.

Since then, Elisa and I would have dinners and talk about our design dreams. Aside from wedding planning, her dream was to always open a bakery. In fact, she used to have her own cupcake business when she lived in Montreal. And then boom, a year later Maman was born. Love how all of her attention to detail from wedding planning has transferred into the Cafe. Obsessed with the decor.

The week I was finished textile design at FIT, I got a phone call from Eliza from Ibiza [haha that rhymed], she told me the news about her Cafe, and asked if I would do the print for it. Obviously I said yes, and I can't believe how well everything came out.

Here are photos from Media day [yes, I still enjoy picking up the camera]. You can see the rest of the prints here!

Ohh and one more things, there are new horoscopes up!

// CHANGING ROOM

// CHANGING ROOM

Dan is sitting beside me as I write this post. He peaked over at the photo above and said, "David looks bored". I corrected him. David is not bored. He likes shopping just as much, if not more than Tina. It's gross. And cute. More gross. Since I classify myself as a window shoppa [insert 50 cent voice here], I'm the one in the photo who hates this shopping experience more than anyone really.

I already miss these two. David acts as my business advisor, and Tinz is generally always my voice of reason. Here are the rest of the photos from the weekend! Alright. It's time to get ready for the day. Let's get it Tuesday. x -C

Surprise birthday cake for Dan [I secretly purchased photo of when he was younger playing ball]

// MOM AND DAD

// Location: Soho

Monday morning from a weekend of fun with these two crazy peeps. Marriage life never looked so good on them. New York is just so much more fun when the family is in town. Dan's surprise party was Friday night. I couldn't tell you about it obviously because it was a surprise, and Dan sometimes likes to read posts [which I find really embarrassing]. Stupid me, I hardly have any photos from Friday. I knew I should have brought my camera.

Anyways. I got to show Tinz and David Maman, which I was really excited about. I'll have more up later. Hope you had a good weekend!

// JOHNS ON 12TH

// JOHNS ON 12TH

Last night tinz and I went to an old Italian restaurant in New York City. John's On 12th, been around since 1908. They haven't changed their menu since. The place was the cutest ever, the food was delicious, and they kept on refilling our glasses of prosecco. What more can you ask for. I love how New York keeps restaurants like this alive. Toronto needs to do more of this. There is something special about eating at a restaurant that has been around forever.

So excited to have Tina and David in town this weekend. Just in time for TGIF.

// FAV NYC SPOT #3

// CAFE SELECT

There is such French influence in New York. I love it. So many cute French Cafes and bars that carry on the Parisian vibes. Cafe Select is one of them. It's a cafe/restaurant tucked away at the corner on Lafayette street in Soho. There's a secret back room that opens up at night with wonderful music and a bar. Shh. Only a few people are supposed to know about this. The brunch there is delicious, and the people are always dressed tres chic.

Sorry I couldn't get to my computer yesterday, strep throat kicked me on my ass. That's what I get for working seven day work weeks I guess. My cloudy head wouldn't allow me to get a post down. I did upload Horoscopes though. If you haven't read yours yet, click Here

Happy Thursday!

// CLAYTON HANSLER

// CLAYTON HANSLER

Clay and I met a while back when I was dancing for the Raptors NBA dance pak. He was in New York this weekend for work [he is the director for a series called All For One for TFC and Maple Leafs]. So lucky me, I got to hang with him last night. We started at a happy hour. We had a year worth of material to catch up on. Aside from an incredible director/editor/video man, he knows how to use a camera well. He showed me these last night, and I had to share them. The majority of these photos  were taken in Central Park. The best part about these photos - he has a story for each of them. Yup, he talked to everyone you see in these photos, small talk, life talk, picture talk. I wish I could remember the description for all of them. The rest of the night was spent watching the Raptors play at MSG, making fun of the New York accents, Clay has a lot of work to do on his accent, he gets mixed up with his pretend Boston accent, and ended the night watching Jazz at a place near my house. It was a lovely night. So good to see him.

In other news, my throat feels like it's getting sore. There's a cold running around New York, and I refuse to catch it. OK, that's all work time for me. x -C

// TIM HORTONS

// TIM HORTONS

Tim Hortons - the only coffee I drink when home for the weekend. I'm already back in the City. These short trips home aren't enough time with the family. I miss them way too much. Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians! We spent ours at my grandparents house. My grandmother makes the most delicious soup ever. Literally. Ever. Others have tried to copy the taste, but it just isn't the same. So, Tina videoed it. We all stood around and watched. It was so cute.

The fam and I hit the town on Saturday night. You want to know the most sad feeling ever, I had no idea where to go out. Toronto hot spots change over so quickly. We ended up at the Soho House for a quick cocktail and some food. Spotted the Calixte Bracelet on a very beautiful lady. So cool!!

Ok. That's all. x -C

// WEDDING DAY

// WEDDING DAY

I opened my eyes this morning at 8:30 from a hour nap while sitting on a Porter flight Home. I'm currently curled up couch bound looking through all of Tina and David's wedding photos. I had to share them. Aside from how stunning and handsome Tina and David look, the photos just are so happy. It really was one of the happiest/ most fun days of my life.

There are about 2,000 more photos that get better looking as you flip through them, however the photos I chose to post are more so the outtakes of the day.

Alright, mama Kaye and I are putting on a movie. Ahh it feels so good to be home.

// GRANDMOTHERS RING

// GRANDMOTHERS RING

When I was younger I used to go into my mom's jewelry drawers and put on everything she owned... at one time. Well whatever my little hands could fit. In my older years, I still go through my mom's jewelry drawer except with a little more of a selective eye. I found this ring, which belonged to my grandmother. I wear it everyday and constantly get complimented on it.

When we were old enough to appreciate good quality, my mom started to buy us pieces of jewelry when 1. Something special happened or 2. If we were on vacation somewhere different as a family. Over the years my jewelry collection now tells a wonderful story of places I've been. I think there's something special about that. That's that story that I would love to create with Farrah and Calixte. They are one of a kind pieces that could be bought for something special. And that something special story will always be tied to it. You can read my story behind the piece here.

I feel like we can create great memories together.

Ok. that's all Happy Friday x -C
