// WINTER CHIC?

// New York fashion week street style

Winter chic. I mean what human can really pull that off. One minute out the door and boom frozen. It's hard to dress winter chic in New York City. I'm currently looking for the warmest boots I can find. Preferably with a rain boot on the bottom, and heavy fur stuff at the top. Here are some chic photos I took from the streets during New York Fashion Week last winter.

Pretty excited to get some street style / runway for this coming Fashion Week! Hope you're enjoying the week so far. Almost TGIF! x -C

// 6 AM

// Location: Candice Kaye Design Studio

Good morning :) My morning usually starts quite early, depending on of course how tired I feel. I'm not a morning person. For the past little while my days have been spent at a Fashion Development Company, where my hours start at 9:30 am, and end around 8 pm ish by the time I get home (new york hours). So all my designing/ creative thinking takes place early morning, weekends, or after work!

My New York schedule has made me fall in love with my 6 am wake up sessions. My most creative moments happen then. Maybe it's because my brain is too tired to go ADD on me that I'm able to focus on just one thing. Anyway this morning was one of those. I've started to paint the christmas cards! They will be on sale at the end of this week!

Ok, time to get ready, wwhat to wear.

Oh oh, and there are new horoscopes up!

December 1st. Christmas songs, Christmas markets, warmer scarves, bigger jackets, snowed in weekends. Ah it would be my favourite month of the year if it didn't mean colder weather to follow. Here's a little sneak into my life lately. Dan, his roommate Dave, and I went to a lovely Whiskey bar down in the Lower East Side Saturday night. Copper and Oak is was called. Shelves and shelves of whiskey.

I've been getting my holiday party outfits ready featuring Farrah. So excited to get all fancy. Alright, it's time to get this day started. x -C

// NEW!

// Location: Candice Kaye Design Studio

Hello! Good morning Sunday. It's a rather warm day in NYC, which I'm not upset about. Dan and I got back into the city yesterday. New York is so quiet. It's quite lovely. There is no better feeling than hitting a refresh button.

I've been designing again. Here are four brand spankin' new ones! Think life size wallpaper. I hope you enjoyed the weekend. x -C

// PARISIAN

Location: Paris, photos: Garance Dore

It was Europe that inspired my whole textile surface design path. Alice Temperley [a British designer] and Paris. Ok, so maybe "Europe" was a large generalization. I would fall asleep to Coco Chanel's documentary, one because I loved her story and two because I was obsessed with learning how to speak Parisian French [I didn't get very far]. I would also lock myself in my room surrounded with books and photos and my sketch book. It was always a dream to one day have a eclectic Parisian apartment. Pretty much one that looks like this one. I love everything about the decor.

This home belongs to Ramdane and Victoire. According to Garance, Ramdane is "pretty cool in Paris", and has all of his hands in really interesting and different projects. x -C

// HAPPY THANKSGIVING

// Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving, the only holiday in the world that only America celebrates. I can imagine New York City lookin' pretty quiet right now. Thanksgiving according to Dan is the best day of the year. Bigger than christmas. Macy's thanksgiving parade, Football all day, non-stop drinking, and eating. From someone who is not American, it's pretty hard to not fall in love with the holiday.

We have Wednesday - Monday off, everyone goes home to their families, everyone is in a good mood, and every single store is on sale, except maybe Chanel. Good thing I can't afford that store. I'm currently down at the shore hanging out with Dan's family. I drank a little too much Whiskey yesterday, my hazy head is making this post harder than it needs to be. Alright, outlet time. Those I can afford.

// WISH LIST

// Pas De Calais

I'm pretty sure that's a sweater turned into a scarf. I like it. I loved this show during New York Fashion Week Fall '14. Really like the long and layered look. Not to mention it looks extremely comfy.

Anyway, it's American Thanksgiving this weekend, which means I'll be down at the shore with Dan's familia! Can't wait x -C
