// TINA'S PJ'S

// Location: Home

My bedtime outfit usually consists of a baggy t shirt, socks, a sweater if it's cold, and really big sweatpants. My sister's, a put together outfit with matching slippers. In the morning I find her already up before me, coffee made, reading her book [or about some kind of vitamin we should be taking. Today was about Vitamin D] with her cute Burberry reading glasses on. I never look this cute in the mornings. Maybe i'll put this on my new year resolution list. x -C

// NEW READ

// Home for the holidays

I like to steal Dan's [my boyfriend] sweatshirts. Men's clothes are sometimes shaped better. I've been living in his blue Polo lately. It's the perfect Saturday morning coffee outfit. I finally had time to get to the bookstore before I flew home. I picked up DVF's new biography. So far it's amazing. Nothing I enjoy more than reading about a strong independent woman who believes that "Fear isn't an option". Highly recommended if you're looking for a new read. Happy weekend x -C

// COFFEE TABLE

// Location: Candice Kaye Studio

I'm a sucker for coffee table books. So much so that I've been sitting in my room for the past two hours looking through them all. I'm two coffees deep and starting to feel the caffeine. I'd love to make one these one day, each post from here can be one page in my book. Let's call it, "The journeys of a Canadian trying to make it as a textile designer in the big bad city". I guess it would only be a sell if it ends in a happily ever after.

I ended a chapter yesterday, leaving a fashion development company to pursue a life solely in textile and design. Felt nice to wake up this morning and return to my usual routine as a freelance designer. I had a deadline this morning for a very special project I can't exactly tell you about yet. Soon hopefully. Cross fingers. I'm excited for this new phase in my life. What will this new year bring me? New York likes to give me many unexpected surprises, not always the most pleasant. But it's taught me how to be pretty much ready for anything.

I'm on way future coffee table book. x -C

// HOLIDAY THOUGHTS

// Photos: Garance Dore

Holiday outfit inspiration. I want that jacket. And those pants. I can't believe it's already holiday party time. I fly home this weekend. Can't wait to get back on Canadian soil. My couch and TV are calling my name.

// 'THAT' TIME OF THE YEAR

// Personal Post

Christmas time, which means a lot of couch time, which means New Years eve time, which means time to reflect on 2014 time. I've never believed in New Year resolutions. I like to write goals for myself, and then wait until 2016 to see if I was clever enough to make them come true.

So far 2014 has kicked my ass mentally and physically. Best part about it all, it has only just begun. There is so much in store for the new year. This city really is magical if you work hard. I'm in the process of putting together a little 2014 recap. I'll get that up soon with some hard learned lessons and pleasant surprises. Hope you're enjoying the day! x -C

// STUDIO WEEKENDS

// Location: Candice Kaye Design Studio

Woah, Hey Monday. Its been a weekend full of work. Scanning, making, painting, putting portfolios together. Surprisingly I don't feel tired. Maybe it's because I've already had two coffees before 8:34 am. Anyways, above are some recent textures from the studio! I've been putting them on everything lately. Can't wait to show you what I've been working on! x -C

// SATURDAYS

// Location: Candice Kaye Design Studio

Good morning from the studio! It's been a while since I've had a Saturday morning to myself. It's a Candice day. I couldn't be more content at the moment. Happy weekend! x -C

// TRAVEL BUG

// Location: London, England

Hayy, good morning Friday [takes a sip of her coffee]. I'm still curled up in my bed wearing Dan's over-sized T-shirt. Kinda wish I could sit here for another few hours before moving. I am not exactly a morning person. Very few words manage to come out of my mouth before two cups of coffee. Anyway, I've been trying to push myself over the past couple weeks to get new designs done. I made a deal to myself that I would get three done per week.

I've got four done in the past two weeks.

I came to the conclusion this morning that I'm in need of another European adventure for some inspiration. I just want to wake up and look out my window to a new view. Any creative New Yorker will tell you, staying in the city for too long is not good for the brain. There is something about getting on an airplane and landing in a country with a different accent that gets me excited. I haven't gotten lost in a city in a while, and going the wrong direction on the F train doesn't count.

My thoughts at the moment: How much is a ticket to London Heathrow airport? And then how much is a plane ticket from London to Italy?
