// PLACEMENT

// Placement // Collection N' 12 ckd design fall '15

Hey, happy Monday. It was a rainy weekend in New York, makes me want to still be in bed, aside from the fact that it's beautiful and sunny at the moment. Anyways, back to design - alongside wallpaper for the newest fall collection, I've been playing around with fabric, particularly for pillows and kitchen towels. They obviously won't be like any other pillows or kitchen towels, placement is the key word for my up coming fall collection. Attention to the smallest detail, couture kitchen towels if you will. Stay tuned!

// EVER SEEN?

// Annual girls trip. Location: Montreal, Canada

I love when I'm asked where I'm from, the conversation goes something like this: me: "Toronto", them: Blank stare, me: "Toronto...Canada", "ahhh wow. That's so far". Not really, believe it or not it's only a hour flight away. We then proceed to have a small conversation about how a friend of a friend of theirs went to Montreal once or twice. I had this conversation this morning while ordering my Americano at my regular coffee shop, and it got me thinking of Montreal and how much I miss it. Montreal, old port, is the cutest and quickest getaway for us Torontoians. It feels like Europe with it's late night dinner culture and zero judgment on how many cocktails you consume. The resturants also turn into the party afterwards as the tables get pushed back and the music gets a little louder. Montreal has been an annual destination for the ladies and I. I can't wait to open one of my many Candice Kaye Design boutiques there. My vision for my boutiques will take place in an old home, with each floor decorated in Candice Kaye Design magic. So far I've got a couple locations written down. 1. Toronto [location undemermined] 2. The Jersey Shore, Montauk and The Hamptons, 3. Montreal, 4. Paris, 5. Australia, 6. San Fransico, 7. LA, 8. Barcelona, 9. London, 10. Dubai, 11...

// TRIAL AND ERROR

// Hour 14

Paint - upload to photoshop - adjust colour - start designing - delete and redo for hours - walk away from the computer in frustration. My design process. I've been paying much more attention to detail for this Fall collection, and it's driving me crazy! Above is a sneak peek into a tile design :) Gonna be coooll.

// COLLECTION N TWELVE

// Fall Collection

In-between getting all my prints together for the summer collection [which launches July 22] i've been designing the fall collection. Which I need to get out to a couple publications by this week [wipes the sweat off her forehead]. As always I wanted to fill you in and keep you updated. Here is a sneak peek into one of the designs! I'm building on Collection N Eleven, using similar florals but adding much more detail. What do you think?
