// SNOWY WEEKEND

//

Sunday morning light while painting is my favourite type of morning. I put Eat Pray Love on for background noise and refill my coffee. A movie I've put on repeat since I moved to New York. I know pretty much the entire scrip by heart. Last night's full moon was almost magical, especially overlooking new york like that. I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend. x -C

// SNOWED IN

// Hoboken, NJ

Snnoooowww day it twas. Dan and I didn't step outside yesterday until around 11:30 - midnight. Cars are literally covered, but it did look really pretty. I'm waiting for my coffee to kick in so I can start moving and explore snowy Hoboken. In other news Dan and I finished Making A Murderer last night and I went to bed angry. There's so much more to this story and Steven was the only person to be investigated. As for Brendan, I just feel really bad for him. He 'guessed' his way to half his life in prison. I really hope this story keeps on top of media.

// MAMAN TRIBECA

// 211 Broadway

It's one of those places that makes me smile every time I walk in. Maman TriBeCa is my favourite location yet, I say yet because there are many more locations to come. I stole these photos off of Elisa. Photographer Morgan Light worked her magic at the opening of the TriBeCa location. I'm putting together a little book for an up coming meeting this weekend, so I thought I was share some of these lovely photos. Thanks for the photos Morgan! xx -C

// EMBROIDERY

// New things are coming

Finally, it's time for embroidery. I've taken inspiration from Collection N Eleven and Collection N Twelve for the embroidery samples, I'm excited to see what they look like. Hopefully it's perfect on the first try, haha wishful thinking. Here's a page out of the sketchbook! x -C

// MY MORNING READ

// The Coveteur

Every morning I sit down in front of my computer with my coffee say good morning on Facebook & Twitter, think about what to write to you, and while I'm thinking head over to The Coveteur. I've been reading The Coveteur for some time now. My fascination started after reading a "closet" interview with Casey Neistat. The "Closet" interview is exactly as it sounds, The Coveteur team goes into your home and photographs you, your closet and then decorates your home with your closet. It's the creativity with the photographs that got me. Which is why I follow the photographer (Jake Rosenberg) on instagram. What a stalkerish world we live in :). Anyway, thought I'd share. x-C

// Coffee talk

I had this posted on my instagram when I first got to New York. I loved it then, and love it even more now. This quote holds so much relevance to my work today - it's there but not quite where I would like it to be. This quote reminds me to continue to produce work even if I'm not 100% happy with it. The more work the more likely I'll finally produce something that I really really like [like Floyd]. All of this work has proven to me that things don't happen right away, if they did there would be no story. The journey would be boring. No stories of only having $100.00 in my account to last me half the month, or interning at a fashion development company which required me to run around new york city in and out of subways with garment bags full of clothes, clean out closets, restock toilet paper, do the dishes, sweep the floors, and steam every single piece of clothing as only some of my duties, or spending my Fridays in my beautiful Greenwich Village apartment taking 100 individual photos for the "Meet Candice" section, and teaching myself how to build my own website while living off pop-tarts and refillable instant coffee. Every new door presented required work behind it. I'm excited to reach my next new door, I know I have of a lot work to do, but I have a good feeling Collection N Fifteen is going to be something really special.

New horoscopes are up also. Happy Wednesday x -C
