// CHINA PLATES

// From the studio

I just spilled my coffee. More upset at the fact that I no longer have a fresh Tim Hortons coffee than the clean up. Anyway, there is country blasting in the studio this morning. My only wakeup music before it hits around 11 am - Beyonce takes over. When I lived in Hoboken country music was the only thing that mentally prepared me for my hour commute into the city. It has stuck months later. The artwork above is a mock up for plates! Yup, we are getting loads of new products in. It's going to be fun couple months. Monday guys - let's get it. x -C

// DON'T WORRY ABOUT FITTING IN WHEN YOU'RE CUSTOM MADE

// Candice Kaye Design's One Year Anniversary

A year ago today I was sitting at my desk in New York, my hair a little shorter, CK a little younger, and nervous for 5:30 pm. It was the Launch Party of Collection N Eleven at Maman in Soho. I had a change of clothes resting on the back of my chair, I remember my hair wasn't as straight as I wanted it to be. The damn water in New York never washed the shampoo out of my hair properly. I was sweating by the time I made it to the subway from running. My party started at 7. After the launch all I remember is exhaustion. I started something that I've completely fallen in love with. There was no turning back. I sit now still at a desk, just my own. I'm blasting Views in my ears, and I just finished writing an email to a supplier in India. My embroidery samples are ready to be shipped. My hair is much longer and blonder, and I'm filled with life lessons that have made me smarter. Today Candice Kaye Design turns one year old and I'm very proud with how far it has come since May 5th of 2015. I am a hopeless romantic who believes magic and fairytales are real. How? Well you're looking at them. This is my magic. I'm hopelessly in love with what I've created. These fairytales are what kept me standing through the hard times. They kept me from drowning when reality felt too heavy and real. They pushed me to keep moving forward when it was time to move on. CKD is going nowhere but up and I couldn't be more confident with that feeling. This is just our beginning. The pavement has been set, smoothed out, and fully dried. It's time to start building on top of it. CKD and I want to do major things. Life can keep throwing curve balls, I've got the glove fitted. Changing the game one year at a time ;) x -C

// PILLOW TALK

// Studio Flow

Collection N Fifteen, the new website, the new company, the new projects, the new life change, the new blond I put in my hair - has put me on a strict schedule. My bedtime is anytime before 10 pm, and I've become - do I even say it - a morning person? And I don't mean the morning person that starts singing right when she wakes up, silence until coffee. I decided I wanted to do big things with my life a long time ago. Candice Kaye Design will be one years old tomorrow.  I feel like I've come as far as I can on my own until this point. I've been investing in new products and new ideas. May is going to be a month of work work work which is why it's a blessing Drake and Beyonce both dropped a new album [repeat all day]. I apologize if these posts aren't everyday, I'll be updating. What's to come is going to be SO GOOD. Can't wait to show you everything.

Meantime, it's Wednesday. Click your horoscope yo.

// THEY DON'T LOVE U LIKE I LOVE YOU

// Studio vibes

Hold up, they don't love you like I love you. I'm singing to my coffee. I'm not over exaggerating when I say I don't talk much before my morning coffee. I need a good two-three sips before I put the headphones on loud and open my computer. Album of choice lately is Lemonade which forces me to sing out-loud accompanied with dance moves. And it's Beyonce, so dance moves are always full-out. Anyway - there are couple things I haven't told you. The last two months have forced me to make some major decisions that have ultimately turned my world upside down. I'm not going to get into detail, but it's definitely been a change. I'm leaning right into this change which is often accompanied with fear. I'm still standing, it requires a third cup of coffee, but I'm still standing. May is going to be a good month guys, I felt different when I woke up this morning. Anyone else? It's time to fight forward. x -C

// OUT THERE

//

When things get weird - weird as in my brain needs to work out a couple things in order for it to sleep at night, I come here. It's my thinking place. This or music so loud in my ears that it drains out my thoughts and fills them with visions of me as Rihanna. I would be a really good Rihanna. I got lost on the hamster wheel (new york) for the last few years that I forgot out this place and what fresh air smelled like. Anyway - it's Wednesday which means her horoscopes are up. x -C

// THE SETTING

// thesettingnyc.com

For those that know me know shopping for groceries is probably one of my least favourite activities. I would prefer to cook with all of the ingredients already magically in front of me. The act of cooking - I don't mind. I can make a really good salmon, stir fry, and moroccan chicken. Anything beyond that, well you can make it yourself. Kidding kidding. Anyway I sat down with The Setting to talk about how I entertain. Preferably with Amanda's products. Amanda is the master mind behind the setting, and besides the fact that she is drop dead gorgeous she makes everything by hand... Read the full interview here! Thanks for having me The Setting!

// HIT THE GROUND RUNNING

//

There's a lot of change going on in Candice Kaye Design land. You can expect a new website coming soon, new product, a new collection, and a whole new company that's in the works. It's go-time and I'm going to need a lot of coffee. In the meantime, there are new horoscopes up! Click Click. x-C

// HIGH RISE

// Levis

I've been living out of suitcases for the last little while #longstory - in the mist of all of this suitcase living I've given away bags of clothes. I pretty much hate all of my clothes and am in need a wardrobe makeover. First purchase were these Levis. Classic color, classic high rise that go with everything. No this isn't a sponsored post - wouldn't mind if it was. Alright, that's all. Happy Monday x -C

// NEW YORK LIGHT

// Upper West Side

Oh hey and hello Friday. Don't let this photo fool you - I threw this hat on my head because there was no room in my bags, I'm sweating - like a lot from carrying luggage, and all of the makeup has melted off my face. So naturally I took a photo, the 7 pm light was too good. I'm currently sitting cross legged surrounded by 1 million pillows in a beautiful home in TriBeca. I don't plan on moving either. Except maybe to refill my coffee. Loads of work to get done, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Perfect way to lean into the weekend. Have a drink for me x-C
