Sunrises and sunsets have always been my constant when everything else felt messy. No matter what was happening, the sun always set with beauty and rose with hope. I arrived in Mattituck at sunset. As I walked into the farmhouse I was staying in, the sunlight streamed through the spindles, I knew it was going to be an incredible week.
Brittany from House of One and I collaborated on a bespoke print that was hand-painted onto the walls of the soon-to-be Vines on Mill. The quiet mornings in the country brought me back to early drives through the country when I lived in Richmond Hill, and long hours spent in my studio in complete silence. Just me, no distractions. No fancy LA nights out, no constant movement just the work. Live painting has a way of keeping me present. There is no rushing it. Every brushstroke asks you to slow down, and pay attention.
