// Candice Kaye Design X WTF

Ahhh!! I woke up this morning to this! I remember the afternoon when I was contacted by Rosa so clearly, the lovely lady who interviewed me and wrote this piece, I was so excited to be considered for a feature I called both Dan and my mom and talked so fast neither of them could understand what I was saying. We met at the Magnolia bakery on 59th street, and chatted about life over cupcakes and coffee. I immediately fell in love with her English accent and her ability to ask the perfect questions that really spoke about who I was, who I wanted to be. This was written prior to the launch of Collection N Eleven - or even it was started rather. It's cool to read back and see how I imagined Collection N Eleven to be versus what it looks like now.  Thank you WTF Magazine for the beautiful feature. Honored.

I'm flying home tomorrow to witness one of my best friend's [Aleks] get married, and it got me all like [please direct your attention to the photo above].

We are getting older. Old enough to have husbands. The ladies and I have been friends now for about 10 + years. Each of us completely different with completely different lives doing completely different things. In the past couple years it's been a rare occasion for us all to be in the same country. But we have all managed to remain the closest of friends, watching each other grow from ladies to women, and now to wives and mothers. I can't wait to get home. A girls sleepover night at the Four Seasons awaits me before the big day tomorrow. Finally all in the same country again, toasting yet another new beginning. Photos for Monday! Happy weekend ya'll. x -C

// MAMAN TORONTO

// From the studio

New York's favourite cafe is making it's way to Toronto! Said to open in the next month or so. Elisa and I have been working on a new custom print to add to the Candice Kaye Design cup collection. So excited to see how it all comes together. I also can't wait to enjoy a cocktail on their patio [yes there's a bar]. x -C

I no longer have patience for certain things, not because I've become arrogant but simply because I reached a point in my life where I do not want to waste more time with what displeases me or hurts me. I have no patience for cynicism, excessive criticism and demands of my nature. I lost the will to please those who do not like me, to love those who do not love me and to smile at those who do not want to smile at me. I no longer spend a single minute on those who lie or want to manipulate. I decided not to coexist anymore with pretense, hypocrisy, dishonestly and cheap praise. I do not tolerate selective erudition nor academic arrogance. I do not adjust either to popular gossiping. I hate conflict and comparisons. I believe in a world of opposites and that's why I avoid people with rigid and inflexible personalities. In friendship I dislike the lack of loyalty and betrayal. I do not get along with those who do not know how to give a compliment or a word of encouragement. Exaggerations bore me and I have difficulty accepting those who do not like animals. And on top of everything I have no patience for anyone who does not deserve my patience.

Wednesday morning thoughts. [ps, new horoscopes are up] x -C

// CANDICE KAYE DESIGN HITS TORONTO

// Chase Hospitality Group

I was so excited when Chase Hospitality Group [the owners of the beautiful Colette Grand Cafe in Toronto and among others] asked me for a custom print for their newest masterpiece Kata Moto in Yorkville. Very excited to see how they are going to use the art work. Thanks for the opportunity guys! x -C

// SUMMER COLLECTION

// Studio Saturdays

Mondays. Whoever invented the week days really should have made Mondays an extra weekend day. It would make them so much more enjoyable. Anyways, here's a little sneak peek from the studio this past weekend. I'm working on the new summer collection! You can expect a lot of texture, tropical-ness, and bright colors [how cool does that marble look? I can't wait to layer that with Candice Kaye Design flowers]. This is how it all starts. Painting days filled with test runs of colors and really messy hands. x -C

// WEEKEND VIBES

// From the studio

Good morning :) I woke up feeling much more awake than I have in a while. I spent my Friday night in bed and it felt glorious - didn't realized how tired my body was. I woke up to a cozy rainy Saturday morning here in New York. Currently sipping on a coffee, wearing Dan's baggy t-shirt, and about to take my paints out for a Saturday of nothing but summer collection. A day with my head in the clouds without feeling guilty about it is just what the doctor ordered. Happy weekend guys. x -C
