// CANDICE KAYE DESIGN HITS TORONTO

// Chase Hospitality Group

I was so excited when Chase Hospitality Group [the owners of the beautiful Colette Grand Cafe in Toronto and among others] asked me for a custom print for their newest masterpiece Kata Moto in Yorkville. Very excited to see how they are going to use the art work. Thanks for the opportunity guys! x -C

// SUMMER COLLECTION

// Studio Saturdays

Mondays. Whoever invented the week days really should have made Mondays an extra weekend day. It would make them so much more enjoyable. Anyways, here's a little sneak peek from the studio this past weekend. I'm working on the new summer collection! You can expect a lot of texture, tropical-ness, and bright colors [how cool does that marble look? I can't wait to layer that with Candice Kaye Design flowers]. This is how it all starts. Painting days filled with test runs of colors and really messy hands. x -C

// WEEKEND VIBES

// From the studio

Good morning :) I woke up feeling much more awake than I have in a while. I spent my Friday night in bed and it felt glorious - didn't realized how tired my body was. I woke up to a cozy rainy Saturday morning here in New York. Currently sipping on a coffee, wearing Dan's baggy t-shirt, and about to take my paints out for a Saturday of nothing but summer collection. A day with my head in the clouds without feeling guilty about it is just what the doctor ordered. Happy weekend guys. x -C

// #LIFEGOALS

// I want the Coveteur to photograph my wedding

It was a regular Wednesday afternoon. I was taking a mind break, clicked on over to The Coveteur and I came across "Capri" + "Wedding" + a really beautiful photo of people having fun. Naturally I clicked on it, and my mouth dropped. I mean talk about wedding goals. I have no idea who any of these people are, but man, do they know how to put on a party. This wedding looks gorgeous. I love the bridesmaid dresses, the photos, I love the everything. I decided right then, I want The Coveteur to photograph my wedding. I figured if I put it out there into the universe something will happen. Congrats to the beautiful couple! [can you adopt me? Sorry mom]

// FIRST THE SKETCH

// From the studio

I've been working hard on a very exciting custom mural design that will span longer than 7 FT for a beautiful powder room in the East Village. Here's a little sneak peek - the full sketch is almost completed. Imagine willow tree leaves, flowers, and delicate branches. I can't wait to start painting this! I'll be updating you along the way! Happy Wednesday, if you haven't read your horoscope yet, they are up. x -C

// NEW YORK CITY

// BROOKLYN, NY

It's taken a while for me to get comfortable with this city. It's been two years [almost] and just now am I starting to feel like I can call this crazy place home. I was standing on a rooftop in Brooklyn when I took this photo and was filled more with hope with what New York can bring me rather than with pure intinimdation. I mean, it's just little CK up against all of those buildings, but I've somehow made it this far, and for once those buildings no longer feel so big. x -C

// SUNDAY MORNINGS WITH PAINT

// Candice Kaye Design watercolor workshop + Maman breakfast

Another lovely Sunday morning with new faces, lovely people and another full house! Sunday's class was inspired by the new summer collection that's in the works and should be launching in the next month or so - Tropical [insert palm tree emoji here]. We designed coffee cup sleeves, so everyone could walk home with their own Maman cup, with the option of cards to design. Such a perfect morning. It was so cool meeting everyone, thank you for coming, and I hope you learned something new! For our next class, follow Maman @_MamanNyc_ or me, @_CandiceKaye_

Woot, happy Monday ya'll. x -C
